Friday Favorites - The Halloween Edition

October 26, 2018

Happy Friday, my friends! We are in the home stretch of the Halloween season and I just really don't want it to end.  So I'm sharing some of the things that I am loving so much right now.

Jack O Lantern

:: I LOVE these dresses for my girls.  I am a very low-fuss, make-my-life-easier sort of mom and these dresses fit into that well. My girls wear them all the time. The twirly dresses get spilled on, played in, etc and they just hold up and look so cute. But my favorite thing about them right now is that they are the perfect fall-to-winter transitional clothes.  When it gets colder, I just pop some leggings on them underneath the dress and my girls are good to go.

:: This Whole 30 meatloaf recipe from Defined Dish is in heavy rotation and it makes the best leftovers.  We usually add a bit of spice to heat ours up. We will be making this on this Sunday evening as we carve up our jack-o-lanterns and then eating it again on Wednesday for some pre-trick-or-treating fuel.  Gotta balance out all that sugar!

:: These Halloween sheets.  I make no apologies for how much I love Halloween and The Great Pumpkin. So I got these bed sheets last year for my girls and I'm kind of surprised by how much joy they bring us.  Going to bed is no longer a battle because they love getting cozy in these sheets and they just make me smile every time I look them.

:: And speaking of The Great Pumpkin, I am living in this shirt.  I got the dark heather one and it is totally my vibe.  I will for sure be rocking this at my girls' school carnival on Friday. I will say that I do think these shirts run small; so I would size one up from your regular size.

:: We have been having the craziest weather here in Texas and have broken all sorts of rainfall records.  A few weeks ago, I ordered these rain boots on Amazon for both of my girls after too many puddle-soaked, squishy shoe incidents and they are saving the day.  School pickup in the pouring rain is not for the weak, my friends.  But these rain boots are making it easier.

:: For all my essential oil friends, this is my favorite diffuser blend these days - Cinnamon Bark | Thieves | Orange.  OH MY WORD! It smells like pumpkin pie and I love that I don't get a headache like I used to with fall candles. AND as a bonus the Thieves is supposed to annihilate all those disgusting school germs.  Can I get a an AMEN from all the mamas?!  So if you have essential oils and a diffuser already, absolutely try this combination.  If you don't but are interested in learning more, then shoot me an email and we can talk more.

:: This Book. Earlier this year, I was in such a funk with my book selections.  Reading started to feel like a chore instead of something to look forward to - which is no good because I am a voracious reader.  Well, I had a number of people recommend The Alice Network to me as one that would make me enjoying reading again.  And let me tell you, it did not disappoint.  Also, if you are on Goodreads, come and connect with me over there.  We can compare all our bookish notes.

Okay, so that about wraps it up.  I hope you have the most fun pre-Halloween weekend!  We are jamming our weekend full of all the Halloween fun with a school carnival, a Halloween party, hanging out with friends, watching the Aggie game, and finishing off strong with some good-ol'-fashion pumpkin carving.  It's going to be great!
