Listening lately

May 30, 2018

While I usually listen to audiobooks while I stitch, I have been sucked into podcasts recently.  Some of them have been a fun, quick peek into someone else's life or job while others have become regular listens that I really look forward to.

Smart Passive Income: I kind of jump in and out of this one as many of the shows are not really applicable to my work.  But I very much enjoyed the episode about Copyright Infringement and how to address it from a legal and tactical perspective.  Learned a lot from that one.

Up and Vanished: Holy smokes!  I became addicted to this one. This one is about a podcast host as he investigates the cold case disappearance of Tara Grinstead who went missing in 2005. I don't want to give anything away but this has lots of twists and turns that had me gasping out loud. I actually found myself doing more work than needed just so I could listen to more. And now I have talked my husband into listening to it.  I'm eager for him to catch up so that we can compare notes.

Creative Biz Rebellion: This podcast is hosted by two Etsy shop owners.  They talk about the in-and-outs of running a small business while juggling families and everything else.  As someone who used to go to work in an office setting where I was constantly collaborating with others, I sometimes miss the comaraderie and brainstorming that comes with that environment.  And while my dog is a great listener, this podcast makes me feel like I am part of a tribe again.

What Should I Read Next: I LOVE this podcast! It is all about literary match making.  Each episode's formula is the same - Anne Bogel (the host) interviews a fellow reader.  That reader provides 3 of their favorite books, 1 book they hated and lots of dialogue about why. From their conversation, Anne (on-the-fly) provides 3 book recommendations and her thoughts as to why she chose them. What I love the most about this podcast is that there is no judgement.  Whether you read 100 books a year or only 2, the only thing that is relevant is that you truly love reading. My only complaint - my TBR list gets bigger and bigger with each episode. If love reading books, this podcast is a must-listen.

So that is what I have been listening to lately.  Any great podcasts that you subscribe to?  If so, I would love to hear about them.
