My Top 3 tips for creating texture in your hand embroidery - blog post by And Other Adventures Embroidery Co

1. Increase your floss strands.  More floss strands = better texture because there is more to work with.  I will often use 6-12 strands of floss in my work.

2. Stop pulling your stitches so tight.  Keeping your stitches loose is key to getting that volume.

3. Layer, layer, layer.  When in doubt, add more layers of stitches.  This is often what makes a good looking embroidery go to GREAT!

Ready to add some texture to your stitching projects? Here are a few AOA kits & digital PDF patterns that are loaded with texture. Just click on any of the photos to go to its product page to learn more.
