TOMORROW is Fall Collection Day and I'm feeling a bit nostalgic. 

10 years ago, I showed off some embroidery projects on social media. Little did I know it, the beginnings of a business was born.  What started out as a hobby to get me through the ups and downs of life quickly became an art form and a business that I never could have expected.  

Back in 2016 (a rather tumultuous year for me), a silent prayer of mine came out as a whisper - "Build what you so desperately want to see in the world". 

• I wanted a job where I could flex my business acumen while also allowing me to still have the energy to be a good mom. 

• I craved to reclaim a calmness and steadiness in my life in an otherwise chaotic world.

• I dreamt of putting beauty into the world where ugliness was showing.

• I wished to surround myself with women that empower and invite instead of exclude and judge.

And with a mix of hard work, relentless focus, serendipity, and the powerful thinking of "but what if I could?", And Other Adventures Embroidery Co came to be.

And so with that always in the back of my head, every design that I create, every class I teach, and every conversation I have is the next step in that silent prayer whispered so long ago.  While you may just see pretty embroidery designs, I see Community, Beauty, and a Reclaiming of our Collective Power.... and when I am feeling especially audacious, my greatest hope is that my embroidery designs allow you to sit for a quiet moment and allow yourself to whisper your own silent prayer of "but what if."
