Pink Princess Tulips in Ginger Jar: Curved Leaf Stitch

March 18, 2025

The main reason that I put the Tulips in Ginger Jar PDF and embroidery kit at the Intermediate Level is because of the leaves.  They are a bit different than the usual leaves that I stitch in that they are elongated + sometimes curved.  This makes it a bit trickier to think of your stitching strategy.  Tricky, but definitely doable once you are shown!  So take a look at this video (it's long, but detailed) to see a closeup of how I stitch these elongated, curved leaves.

Tips:

  • I like to start my first stitch in the middle of the leaf so that you have approximately equal space between the top and the bottom of the leaf.
  • Note that there is a bit more vertical space in between your current stitch and the one above it.
