Learning hand embroidery is fun and relaxing and such a wonderful creative outlet. And while it can sometimes seem intimidating at the very beginning, it does not have to be. Once you get a handful of stitches under your belt, you are good to go and can make SO MANY things. Case in point, for my first years of stitching, I only used 5 stitches! You can read more about that HERE.
But once you get a few stitches under your belt, what stitch do you tackle next? The options are limitless and I am still learning new stitches all the time. So I decided to come up with my own personal list of 10 stitches that I think every embroiderer should know. I picked these stitches because not only do I use them most frequently in my own work, but they are also foundational stitches that you can build upon to create other stitch techniques.

Very, very helpful!!! I’ve been embroidering for several years, buy I had no idea that there were so many stitches for me to learn. This renews my excitement for my next project and using all of these different stickers! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful talent with us “little people”!😊
