Goblins, Gremlins and Ghosts, Oh My! I love getting into the Halloween spirit and celebrating all things October. It is my favorite month of the whole year. The weather is finally cooler here in Texas, Halloween is right around the corner, and crunchy leaves just make everything better. Take a look at some of my favorite picks for this October.
::This year and with all 2020 has brought us, I decided to cozy up my backyard using some outdoor string lights. We are spending more and more time out there as we hang out with friends (socially-distanced style). Plus, my family and I have an annual tradition that celebrates the first cold snap of the season - We open all the windows, make a huge pot of chili, and move the festivities outside. We fire up the Solo Stove and spend the evening enjoying chili, s’mores, red wine (from our Scout & Cellar wine delivery), and fantastic conversation.
:: I found the cutest and most comfortable sweatshirt to wear throughout the fall season. I love how the heather gray color goes great with just about everything in my closet! And to top that, the flared bell sleeves and multi-colored star-shaped sequins in hues brown, gold, yellow and red, can take me from daytime to cocktails in a flash (oh how I miss date nights out!).
:: Since Halloween is our favorite holiday, it’s only right to get the girls bundled up in these adorable pajamas. Unfortunately, I think they have already sold out; so here are some other ones that are just as cute. I love how excited they get for these, especially knowing that soon enough they will be too cool for matching pajamas. I’m sure they will want to wear them while we decorate our fireplace with our favorite bat decorations while watching our favorite Halloween movie. Hocus Pocus anyone?
:: As many of you know by now, due to health reasons, I have to eat grain-free. These paleo pretzels are my new favorite! This delicious treat is something I can bake all year, but they’re especially yummy during the fall. I got the recipe from a favorite cookbook of mine, Michele Rosen’s Paleo Baking at Home. Everything I have made from this book has been amazing!
:: Charlie Brown & The Great Pumpkin is our all-time favorite Halloween TV show. There is just something so nostalgic about it. So you know this one is on the daily repeat here at our house and I’m not sad about it. A close second is Room on the Broom. We were introduced to this story first as a book - Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson and then started watching the show. The music, narration, and storyline are so sweet and perfect for the season. For a complete list of our favorite Halloween books, click HERE.
:: When it comes to your Embroidery Projects this October, I have a few ideas to get you into a Halloween state of mind - Halloween Bat Embroidery Kit or Digital Hand Embroidery Pattern. It’s the perfect kit for the classic Halloween feel. And if Pumpkins are more your vibe, we have Pumpkin kits and digital patterns in a number of different colors.
